A place for new & expecting Mothers

The Mothers Cove is a place for mothers to come together, share experiences, gain knowledge, and get support for their journey into and through motherhood.

The Mother’s Cove objective is to educate expecting moms as well as those with young children (especially newborns) on how to take care of themselves and their babies throughout their pregnancy and beyond. The focus is on the mom properly caring for herself which produces positive outcomes for both mom and child.

Over a period of 6 weeks the mom attends a series of six courses that educate and inform her on the necessary components of care, including such items as teaching the A-B-C’s of safe sleep and proper pre-natal care. Group discussions are led by subject-matter experts in the field and information is shared from both an academic and personal experience perspective.

The final class in the series will divide the group into teams to form “small groups” that become a support community and support village that can be of help to one another in times of need. The wrap-up event is a baby shower and awards ceremony involving a motivational speaker around the topic of motherhood. This final ceremony also includes fathers as well as other siblings for an event filled with fun, fellowship and connectiveness.
