Our Focus

We accomplish our mission in four targeted areas:

Workforce Development / Job-Skills Training

Train 40 individuals in the skilled-trades core curriculum + a trade with each achieving a Level-1 certification & obtaining a job / career pathway

Mother’s Initiatives / Infant Mortality Solutions

Educate 100 mothers per year in the ABC’s of safe sleep as well as provide coaching and life skills training for family stability in housing, food security, & employment.

Youth Training, Development & Mentoring

Provide 100 middle school to high school aged youth with mentoring and goal setting to create a pathway to achieving their individual life goals.

Partnering with like-minded organizations and solution providers to create success

Through networking and strategic partnerships create a shared resource and funding model to sustain and maintain program growth and development to expand our reach and impact.

The Mothers Cove is a place for mothers to come together, share experiences, gain knowledge, and get support for their journey into and through motherhood.

Pathways to College

Pathways to College is a collaborative effort with The Gaddis Foundation 4 Kids to assist every child desiring a college education to find the means of achieving their goal. We assist with the application process for admissions, as well as applying for scholarships and other forms of tuition aid and with selection of the school that is the best fit both academically and socially. We also co-sponsor annual college tours to give the student an actual visit to several primarily HBCU institutions for a comparative reference.

Green Opportunities

Green Opportunities is a partnership between Be Counted On Foundation, The Millennium Community School, First Church of God and The City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation. The goal of this collaborative effort is to introduce the game of golf to school aged kids who otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn the game and take advantage of all that the game has to offer. Golf instruction is combined with a K-12 youth development curriculum that inspires children to understand the social, emotional, intellectual, and intercultural skills needed to thrive as adults. The enrichment and academic activities reflect S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) along with the Skilled Trades while emphasizing personal and cultural strengths that build confidence and individuality.

The Millennium Community School Initiative

The Millennium Community School is a K-8 Charter School with 650 students, representing over 200 families living primarily in southeast Columbus. Through our various programs we make a conscious effort to provide services to the students and their families so that they may be able to establish and maintain a stable and healthy home environment that leads to improved performance academically and socially.

Boys Won’t Be Boys

Lead and directed by "Coach" Tim Brown, Boys Won't Be Boys is a program dedicated to raise our young males to become men. With emphasis around the emotional, intellectual, and physical delveopment regarding our male youth, after graduating from the program they will be able to see that they are somebody in life!
