The City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation is proud to offer programs aimed at helping people take their career to the next level! Through partnerships from various organizations, we are able to provide workshops and seminars to participants where they can earn certification in areas such as Carpentry, Concrete Finishing, Electrical / Electrician, HVAC (Heating-Ventilation-Air Conditioning) and more.

Learn a New Skill!

First Church of God and its City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation has joined forces with The National Skilled Trades Network to offer training in the Skilled Trades Industry.  The program will be taught by certified instructors who are industry experts within their field. First Church of God located at 3480 Refugee Road in Columbus has been designated as an Accredited Training Unit (ATU) by the National Skilled Trades Training organization.

What We Offer

The program will offer TUITION FREE TRAINING (a $3000 value) that leads to a certification in Basic Safety (the prerequisite to industry employment) and level 1 certification in the following areas:  Carpentry, Concrete Finishing, Electrical / Electrician, HVAC (Heating-Ventilation-Air Conditioning) and Plumbing.  All training will be held at First Church of God and class size will vary to insure that everyone will be prepared to receive a quality education.
